San Diego Valentine's Day Weekend

San Diego Valentine's Day Weekend

February 10, 2020

We have one week to plan a stellar Valentine's Day weekend in San Diego. Let’s get cracking!!

Friday, Feb. 14th

Restaurants are bulging at the seams so I suggest skip dinner on Friday and instead hit a museum or park. Stroll Balboa Park and dive into the Museum of Photographic Arts, The Timkin, The Museum of Art or simply people watch.
Bring a small gift and heartfelt card filled with all the reasons you love your Valentine. Remember that holidays are not the only day you can take the time to list all the beauty about this person. Do this often!!

Saturday, February 15th

Start the day at a coffee shop, like Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, and toast a cup of coffee or tea to “How grand is love!” Put on your running shoes/sneakers and walk around your neighborhood, the ocean or Torrey Pines State Reserve. You don’t have to walk fast or jog, just enjoy the time spent together by savoring the view (be it the crashing waves, the houses and trees in your neighborhood, or the magnificent trails of the state reserve). Later that night, treat your Valentine to a romantic dinner.

Here are a few of my favorite dinner spots in San Diego:

Airport area

*C Level (great views)

Point Loma

*Little Lion (So perfectly small)
*Cesarina (Italian romance)
*Bankers Hill (lighting is perfect)
*Il Dandy (Cool vibes)

Mission Hills

*Starlite (swanky bar)

Kensington

*Bleu Boheme (Frenchy & romantic)

Little Italy

*Juniper & Ivy (dinner)
*Extraordinary Desserts (so much more than dessert!)

La Jolla

*Cusp (great views all day)
*Bistro du Marché (lovely French food)
*Whisknladle (great food and ambiance)
*Candor (delicious food and modern)
*Puesto (upscale Mexican food)
*Herringbone (great ambiance & drinks)

Sunday, February 15th

Wake up slowly then spend the day in the East Village area. Genteel Coffee is a great start to your day or try The Mission restaurant for an authentic Mexican breakfast. Follow this with an easy walk around the Public Library, Petco Park and the many shops and restaurants of downtown. Amplified Ale Works (brewery) in East Village is delicious, spacious and has a small park adjacent called Fault Line Park. It’s perfect for enjoying the beautiful cool yet sunny weather!

Nothing says love like spending quality time. It’s not about the present or even the restaurant: it’s about the time that you spent conjuring up a plan to enjoy each other’s company. The gift of your time and thoughtfulness is what cuts straight to the heart! Enjoy your special someone and enjoy your weekend!!
